Why do I need vaccines when travelling?

Whenever you travel to a new country, you face the real risk of being exposed to pathogens your body hasn’t built up a natural defence against. This protection is called “immunity”, hence why we use the word “immunisations”. This exposure can lead to diseases and infections such as Typhoid and Yellow Fever which can further develop into illness. These illness can have a detrimental impact on individuals and, in certain circumstances, be fatal. By taking the appropriate vaccines before you set off on your holiday you can build up the necessary defences which, in turn, will greatly reduce the risks involved with travel. What vaccines do you offer at AR Pharmacy Lyndhurst?

Currently we offer three vaccines – Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Hepatitis A.

When do I need to get my vaccines?

We recommend that you book in plenty of time before you travel, potentially up to 8 weeks. This will allow for your body to fully develop immunity. In addition, some vaccinations require multiple doses to be effective.
